Leiden University Research and Innovation Services (LURIS)

Leiden University Research and Innovation Services (LURIS) is the Technology Transfer Office of the Leiden University and LUMC. The aim of LURIS is to improve knowledge transfer from scientists to society. LURIS services include:

LURIS a hosts the ”Leeuwenhoek Starters program”, which supports new research-based companies with pre-seed funding, expert opinions, infrastructure, business coaching and networks.

West Holland Foreign Investment Agency (WFIA)

The West Holland Foreign Investment Agency serves as the one-stop shopping desk for the West-Holland region to assist and advise international companies on the many aspects involved in locating their European operations.One of the core services provided by the WFIA is a free tailor-made fact-finding visit for companies interested in the West-Holland region. The fact-finding may include introductions to key business, financial, legal and consultancy contacts as well as suitable business locations in the area.Depending on the company's requirements the WFIA operates as your partner to answer your specific questions or concerns regarding the establishment of an office or facility in the West-Holland region.

OVBSP, park management organization

Leiden’s Bio Science Park’s management is the responsibility of OVBSP (a union of companies and institutions at the park). OVBSP offers collective services, and has appointed a park manager who is responsible for security. Newcomers to the park must meet the OVBSP.

‘De Stal’

Grand café ‘De Stal’ is the main social meeting point in the park. It also serves as Leiden’s Bio Science Park’s information centre. De Stal used to be bull Herman's stable. Herman was the first genetically modified bull. He spend his old age in this stable with the cloned cows Holly and Belle.



‘De Stal’ is open at workdays during lunchtime, from 11.00 hrs am to 15.00 hrs pm. During the rest of the day ‘De Stal’ is available for meetings and events.  Reservation is required, please contact the manager Koos Koelewijn for more information /reservation:
