Microdosing: tracing the tracerIn the process of bringing drug candidates and new food

Ingredients to the market, companies are urgently looking for ways to improve the efficiency of their development process. Microdosing, a technique that involves testing small amounts of products in humans at a very early stage in the development process, may be part of the answer. However, the technique has yet to be applied on a large scale.

Why not? And why should it be? This conference explores the use of microtracers in the clinical development and what it can mean to scientists in the biotech, food and pharma industries.

Program
The conference offers presentations by well-known innovators in the field of microdosing. We will welcome five speakers representing the biotech, pharma and food industries. There will be ample opportunity for discussion about strategies and experiences.

The following presentations have been confirmed:

  • Accelerating drug development using microdosing and accelerator mass spectrometry; have we reached the end of the beginning?
Prof. Colin Garner, Garner Consultancy Services, York, UK
  • 14C tracer clinical studies at GSK - Is this the wavefront or just ripples in the pond of drug development?
Dr. Graeme Young, GSK, Ware, UK
  • Use of positron emission tomography in microdose studies
Dr. Oliver Langer, Medical University of Vienna, Austria
  • Use of microtracers in alternative biomarker strategies
Dr. Wouter Vaes, TNO, Zeist, the Netherlands

A full program will be available soon.
