Young and internationally oriented

Leiden has a relatively young, well-educated, internationally oriented and creative population with high employment rates. There are about 120.000 inhabitants, with mostly high (45%) and middle (31%) education levels. Approximately a quarter of Leiden’s residents are students (about 17,000 at university level; 5000 at vocational high school level and about 10,000 at vocational secondary school level).
 

Wide range of schools

There is a complete range of secondary and tertiary (vocational) schools in or near Leiden, including the British School, the American School and the International School.
