New licensing opportunities from Leiden University and LUMC
Commercialization of the quality research taking place in Leiden is a key priority of both Leiden University and Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). Not only is the research activity itself strengthened, but also the output can be effectively utilized by society for economic and clinical benefit. The role of LURIS is to facilitate this commercialization process for the University and the LUMC.
Each year tens of inventions are patented with the goal to have these valuable findings further developed and marketed by industry. This results in an interesting portfolio of licensing opportunities that are being marketed within the existing network, via direct mailings, by posting these on partnering websites and by the promotion on conferences.
Successful negotiations ultimately lead to a (non)exclusive license for the company, sometimes linked to a research contract with the goal to develop the technology further in collaboration with the inventors themselves. In this way the company can profit from the intrinsic knowledge present within the medical center. The licensing opportunities available are very diverse and fall into a wide range of disciplines, as they originate from all different departments and institutes within the LUMC and Leiden University.
Please consult the complete list of licensing opportunities to see what other interesting technologies are available for licensing.
