The 4th of April 1984 marks the start of the Leiden Bio Science Park. That day the first organisation, the incubator The Academisch Bedrijven Centrum (ABC), was founded. Since then the park grew out to the largest dedicated biomedical science cluster in the Netherlands.
Steady growth
In 1985 three companies settled in the park, in April 2009 the park counts 88 dedicated companies. Especially since 1999 the park experienced a spectacular growth. An overview of the development of the park with company and research milestones is available in the timeline.
